Welcome to the Southside Youth Group! Our mission as a youth ministry is:
To ignite and fan the flame of revolution for Christ in the heart of every teen.
WHY WE DO WHAT WE DO – It is our prayer that every relationship that is started and every activity that is organized will bring glory to God and bring teens closer to Him. We strongly believe that teens are a vital part of our church and also feel that most decisions for Christ are made in the teenage years. Those involved in the youth ministry have a passion for God and his awesome creation: Teens!!
Every year we host three retreats to bring teens out of the busyness of life and help them to center on God. We also provide many service opportunities to put God’s words into actions…at least once a month during the school year and weekly opportunities during the summer. Our annual mission trip is a core component of our ministry. Finally, we value the connection we have with local and regional churches. Events such as CIY, Impact, Winterfest, and local worship opportunities are a great reminder of the other Christians serving together with us in the area.
COCOONS – The youth group’s small group program. We call them Cocoons because they are a safe place where growth and transformation can occur. Each Cocoon is led by an adult or student leader/adult team. The primary goal of our Cocoons is to develop spiritual relationships between students and mentors. Cocoons happen every Wednesday night through-out the school year. Parents receive a weekly “Cocoon Thoughts” email containing an overview of what we are talking about along with discussion questions so families can continue the discussion at home.
Cocoons meet in the Youth Area from 6:30 – 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday evenings.
STAY INFORMED – Please email our youth minister Jeremy Stewart for any information regarding the youth group.
